SadaqahHub is an online crowdfunding platform under the laws of England and Wales.

SadaqahHub acts as a third party (facilitator) to provide services to charities and non-profit organisations in the UK. These services include online fundraising tools used to raise and raise funds for charities.

We do not assume any financial responsibility because we do not collect any funds or process any tangible cash. All funds are collected by our payment gateway partner Stripe.

At SadaqahHub, we take your privacy and the processing of your personal data very seriously. What is personal data?

Personal Data Explained

We can only process your personal data with your prior consent when you must perform the contract with you as a party, or when it is necessary for us to perform our legal obligations. The following describes the processing of personal data, the specific purpose of the processing, the legal basis for processing, and the time for which we store your personal data.

We collect and process your name in order to prevent fraud and money laundering, and to make it possible for donors to know that any campaign is true. Your name is collected by us so that we can perform your contract as a party and because it is necessary for us to perform our duties in accordance with legal obligations (anti-money laundering regulations).

Your email address is collected and processed by us and shared with individuals who own the fundraising activities you have contributed. We have collected your email address so that we can fulfil the contract you are participating in.

Your address is collected by us only when tax relief (Gift Aid UK Only) is sought for a donation. The address is required for a campaign owner to submit to the UK government body Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs department (HMRC). Your address is in such case collected by us in order for us to perform on a contract to which you are a party.

Before you actively close your account, all of the above personal data will be stored securely. If you are not active, we will send you a reminder via email every twelve (12) months to close your account.

We use Mixpanel to improve your user experience and the overall quality of our service. This is done by tracking and analysing the traffic and general behaviour on our website.

What happens if you don’t want us to have your data?

You do not need to provide us with personal data. Please note that if you do not do this, it may affect our ability to provide the services you request.

On what legal bases do we process your data?

We will process your personal data on various legal basis according to the purpose. For example, if we obtain your consent, we will only process your personal data to send you direct marketing messages. How do charity partners use my data?

We will share your personal data with those charities/ not for profit organisations to which you donated. When we pass your information to charities, they will also become the controllers of such personal data. This means that they are responsible for complying with their own data protection laws when using your personal data, and all such use should comply with the charity’s own privacy statement. When the charity receives your details, they will send you its privacy statement. SadaqahHub is not responsible for charitable organisations' use of your personal data or charitable organisations' compliance with applicable laws.

When you donate to, create a fundraising page or create an account, you give consent to receiving email from SadaqahHub and also the charity/ not for profit organisations about the impact of your donation and other ways to support them including future events, campaigns and appeals.

Right to be forgotten

You have the right to ask us to delete any personal data we process about you. We will delete the data as soon as possible, but at least within one month. If personal data is needed to fulfill our contractual obligations to you or to retain that personal data for legal reasons, we will delete it before it is no longer needed. We will also delete personal data that we have collected but no longer have legal processing rights without your explicit request. If this happens, we will notify you.

Right to withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw your given consent at any time. If you do this, we will delete your personal data, which will not be bound by any other legal basis except with your consent. The deletion will be completed as soon as possible. Please note that your withdrawal of consent is not obligated to delete personal data processed on the basis of contractual relationships or any other legal basis.
